ClearMac license agreement

Effective 29 September 2026

This agreement is between you and Ajay Kumar, an independent developer in India (“we”), the maker of ClearMac. By installing or using ClearMac you agree to it. If you don't agree, don't install or use ClearMac.

1. The license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ClearMac on Macs you own or control.

• Free version: you may use it on any number of your Macs, at no cost.
• Trial: every Pro feature is available for 14 days from the first launch on each Mac. After that, ClearMac keeps working as the free version.
• ClearMac Pro: a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro features on up to 3 Macs at a time, including every 1.x update. A future major version (2.0) may be a paid upgrade; your 1.x license keeps working.

2. Purchases

ClearMac Pro is sold by Dodo Payments, our reseller and Merchant of Record, which handles payment, tax and invoices. Their terms of sale apply to the purchase itself. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

3. What you may not do

• Share, sell, rent or publish your license key, or use it on more Macs than your license allows.
• Get around the license check, or change ClearMac to unlock Pro features without a license.
• Reverse engineer ClearMac, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
• Redistribute ClearMac, except by sharing a link to our website.

4. Your files and your responsibility

ClearMac is designed to be careful: it labels items, moves them to the Trash rather than deleting them, and refuses to touch protected locations. But you decide what to remove, and you're responsible for keeping backups of your data. Please keep a current backup, for example with Time Machine, before cleaning up.

Some developer-tool cleanups run the tool's own command and can't be undone. ClearMac labels these “Can't be undone” and asks before running them. Emptying the Trash also can't be undone.

5. Updates

ClearMac can check for and install updates. Updates install only if they're signed by us. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.

6. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what ClearMac sends and why. In short: nothing about your files leaves your Mac.

7. Third-party software

ClearMac includes open-source software under its own licenses, which apply to those parts: Sparkle (MIT license), for updates. Their notices are in ClearMac ▸ About ClearMac. Apple Intelligence features use Apple's on-device model under Apple's terms.

8. Warranty

ClearMac is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise ClearMac will be error-free. Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract, including under India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for ClearMac Pro. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Ending the license

You can stop using ClearMac at any time. If you break this agreement, your license ends and you must stop using ClearMac. A refunded purchase ends the Pro license.

11. Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and can bring a claim where those laws allow. Before going to court, please email us: most problems are solved quickly.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this agreement for future versions; the version that came with your copy of ClearMac applies to it. Questions: hello@navior.tech.
