Installing and updating

macOS 14 Sonoma or later. AI features need Apple Intelligence (macOS 26 or later).

Download

Download ClearMac from this website (coming soon) and open the downloaded file.
Drag ClearMac to your Applications folder.
Open ClearMac from Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it after a short check.

Or use Homebrew

brew install --cask ajay-develops/clearmac/clearmac

Homebrew installs the same signed app. ClearMac then updates itself, so there's no need to upgrade it through Homebrew.

If macOS won't open it

If you see “ClearMac can't be opened”, make sure you downloaded it from this website or Homebrew. Then open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about ClearMac, and click Open Anyway. If macOS says the app is damaged, delete that copy and download it again.

Activate Pro

After buying, you'll get a license key by email.
In ClearMac, open Settings, and under ClearMac Pro click Upgrade or Enter Key…, then I Have a Key. Paste the key and click Activate.
To move Pro to another Mac, click Deactivate on This Mac… in Settings first. One key works on up to 3 Macs at a time.

Updates

ClearMac checks for updates once a day and asks before installing. Updates install only if they're signed by ClearMac. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings, or check yourself with ClearMac ▸ Check for Updates…. Offline mode turns update checks off.

Uninstall

Quit ClearMac and drag it from Applications to the Trash. To remove its settings and history too, also move ~/Library/Application Support/com.clearmac.app and ~/Library/Preferences/com.clearmac.app.plist to the Trash. With Homebrew, brew uninstall --zap --cask clearmac does all of this.
