Files synced by Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and similar. Deleting them here deletes them in the cloud too. To free space, use the provider's option to keep files online only.

What “Protected” means

Another app or a sync service manages it. Removing it breaks that app or deletes it on every device. ClearMac won't move it to the Trash, and tells you where to manage it instead.
